State Tax Policy, Economic Activity, and Inequality

DABE will host a luncheon with Dr. Harvey Cutler, a Colorado State University Professor of Economics. Dr. Cutler will speak on his recent publications, including "Can State Tax Policy Increase Economic Activity and Reduce Inequality?" (2018).


About the Speaker

Dr. Cutler has published refereed journal articles in the areas of macroeconomics time series analysis, costs and benefits of economic growth, international trade, tourism, tax policy, fracking, renewable energy, and natural hazards.

Dr. Cutler has been either the PI or CO-PI for grants funded by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (2015-20), the National Institute of Standards and Technology (2020-25), the National Institute for Food and Agriculture (2014-17), Estimating the Economic Value of Improved Weather Forecasts Resulting from NOAA - GSD Research and Technology Transfer", DOC-NOAA-Natl Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (2018-19) and the NOAA-AQPI Weather Forecasting (2018-21).

Dr. Cutler has also led numerous contracts in the areas of transitioning to larger reliance on natural gas and renewable energy in the generation of electricity, the retirement of coal plants, the economic impact of Colorado State University, the impact of the aviation industry in Colorado, and the economic impact of tourism.

The luncheon will be held at the Webb Building in first floor conference room 1.B.6. You can access the conference room through the Clerk and Recorder's office near the north entrance to the building. Please allow a few minutes to complete a security check when entering, and note that some items may not be brought into the building.
