About this event

Join DABE and the Colorado Health Institute for a discussion on the rising costs of healthcare, changes to Medicaid, and the role of work and health insurance in the healthcare system. We will be joined by Dr. Cathy Bradley from CU Anschutz and Emily Johnson from CHI to present on their work and research into these subjects. We will be serving hors d'oeuvres and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at this evening event.

Dr. Cathy J. Bradley, PhD, MPA, is the Dean of the Colorado School of Public Health at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and Deputy Director of the University of Colorado Cancer Center, where she also holds the Paul A. Bunn, Jr. Endowed Chair in Cancer Research. She is a health economist specializing in the economic and social determinants of cancer outcomes, including labor market decisions, financial toxicity, and disparities in access to care. Dr. Bradley has published extensively in leading journals such as the Journal of the National Cancer Institute and JAMA Health Forum, and has been continuously funded as a principal investigator by the NIH since 1998. She earned her PhD in Health Policy and Administration and MPA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her BA in Political Science from Old Dominion University.

Emily Johnson is the Managing Director of Research, Evaluation, and Convening at the Colorado Health Institute, where she leads strategic planning, quality assurance, and data-driven analysis to support equitable health policy in Colorado. She specializes in quantitative and policy analysis, with experience in financial modeling, Medicaid policy, behavioral health, and localized health data estimation. Her work has informed key initiatives, including Colorado’s response to COVID-19 and the biennial Colorado Health Access Survey. Emily holds a master’s degree in health services research from the University of Colorado and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary Washington.

This is an evening in-person only event that will have some networking opportunities before and after the presentations. We hope you can join us!
