About this event

For this virtual-only luncheon, we have invited Abby Andre to present on the Impact Project.
The Impact Project is a nonpartisan, research-driven initiative that tracks the local consequences of changes to federal policy—especially budget cuts and agency rollbacks. The project compiles data from government sources, news reports, and direct community input to document where programs have been reduced, offices closed, or services withdrawn. Since its launch, it has mapped over 100,000 discrete impacts across the country, providing a public record of how national policy decisions shape conditions on the ground.
Abby André is the Founding Executive Director of the Impact Project and its inaugural effort, the Impact Map - an interactive platform that visualizes how federal employment, funding, and policy decisions shape communities across the U.S. and the world. A Doctoral Fellow at The Ohio State University, Abby brings deep expertise at the intersection of government, data science, and public service. A former attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice, Abby spent nearly a decade leading environmental enforcement and advising federal agencies under both Democratic and Republican administrations. She has also taught law and policy at the undergraduate and graduate levels and is committed to making complex systems more transparent and accessible through data-driven tools, research, and analysis.
