DABE 11.13.19 PRESENTATION_RON_NEW.pdf

Everyone likes to talk stocks, but borrowed money (bonds) makes the world go ‘round. Ron New has spent decades working in the bond market and he will share his observations from his perch in the capital markets.

This will be a mostly extemporaneous discussion of the economy, economic data, the yield curve, financial market plumbing (repo), negative interest rates, observed structural changes to the single family housing market, the trajectory of the Federal Funds rate, how margin compression has reduced staffing of front line capital market positions and increases the risk of market volatility in a crisis, the sunsetting of the London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR) in 2021 and more
